Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon (Game Boy - Konami - 1997 - EUR)

This game was released around the same time as the first Goemon game on Nintendo 64. I loved this game so much that when I saw a Goemon game for Game Boy, I didn’t have a second guess... and I should have one. What a disappointment! I was looking for an adventure game much like Link’s Awakening, instead I had a cheap rip-off of the first Zelda game on NES. The exploration is barebones, the controls are stiff and the graphics are nothing special: I have a hard time believing this was released in 1997, late into the Game Boy’s lifespan. I forced myself to complete it and I never really played it again ever since. Not a bad game per say, but clearly not what I was looking for.
