Every retro gamer knows about this one. It’s a symbol of my childhood. DuckTales embodies what a good platform game is: tight controls, fantastic graphics and musics (the moon theme FTW), and a non linear progression a la Mega Man. It can be easy sometimes, and it have its slowdowns, but the pogo stick is such a delight to use that this alone redeems all the little defaults. One can say this Game Boy version is a watered down conversion of the NES original and one wouldn’t be wrong. But the level design has been altered to fit the smaller screen and the overall experience is mostly similar. A very good game nonetheless, and a no brainer addition to your collection.
