Goldie quickly learns to run and jump, and since he is always in a good mood, all the other animals love him very much. His best friend is the squirrel Wüschel. Every day they walk through the forest together and listen to the stories the old trees can tell. One evening when Goldie comes home, there is no one waiting for him. This has never happened before. Goldie searches everywhere, but the parents cannot be found. Goldie is desperate; what could have happened? Everyone is worried about the little deer and tries in vain to comfort him.
