I absolutely adore this flick. I know that a lot of people found it to be derivative, or the effects didn’t do it for them, or this, that, and the other. No worries. I totally get it. But for some reason (many actually!) this one just hit all of the right buttons for me. The movie was so much more awesome than I could ever have anticipated, and to be honest, I didn’t even think it looked particularly awesome. I loved every wonderful, beautiful moment of it. Pop culture references galore litter the proceedings, with an epic and inspiring old school hero story, super creative special effects, and just an overall fantastical, overwhelming sense of FUN. I really hope to see more in this world some time down the line. What did you all think of it?
