Batman has been an action figure since Mego’s 8-inch line in 1972, but the range collectors mean usually starts with Kenner’s 1989 film tie-ins and the Animated Series figures that followed. The show’s art deco design translated into plastic better than almost any cartoon before it.

The line has never stopped since. Loose nineties figures, carded film releases and modern Multiverse pieces all trade here, and the villains often outprice the Batmen.
