About Hasbro
Hasbro started in Rhode Island in 1923 selling pencil cases, and invented the modern action figure in 1964 when it put G.I. Joe on shelves — the word "doll" being unsellable to boys, the category needed a new name. It has held the Star Wars licence since 1991 and the Marvel one since 1998.
That breadth is why a Hasbro page reads as a cross-section rather than a single line: the figures here run from vintage Kenner-era Star Wars through Clone Wars animated to modern Marvel Legends.
